Another round of beta invites dueThere hasn't been very much news released on the Black Prophecy closed beta since it began, however Snowcrash released this little update today.
As to when and how these invites will be sent out, is not known at this time. We will post any new information we get. Black Prophecy E3 2010 Trailer OnlineGamigo have revealed the Black Prophecy trailer for E3 this year. It's pretty heavy on the gameplay footage, although with a lot of fast cuts. Looks like some of the footage is from closed beta battles, too. Bits and pieces of temporary text are still visible, but the feature demonstration is pretty impressive, although the combat itself looked perhaps a little slower than might be expected. Grab the trailer now. (WMV, 169mb) Screenshot gallery updatedThere has been quite a lot of screenshots released for Black Prophecy recently, but not all of them can be found in one central place. Us at the Prophecy Network decided we needed more eye candy for the Prophecy Network Screenshot Gallery and so went boldly to every Black Prophecy wesbite we could find to seek out new Eye candy. (Someone is shouting set phasers to stun...so I think I better warp off quickly...) Anyway we are looking for more loose eye candy, so if you find any, why not tell us by posting in our forums, tweeting us on Twitter, or just chatting to us in IRC. Oh make sure you check out the screenshot gallery which can be found under the Media section link in the top right corner. First Beta Screenshots ReleasedSnowcrash has today released three screenshots from within beta, featuring him trying to shoot down some Genide pilots. Apparently PvP is working in beta at least! Shedding light on the modular shipbuilding systemDetails on the modular shipbuilding system for Black Prophecy was released today, and this is probably the first major bit of game information released to date. There is a lot of information in this post, but it looks like you start with a cockpit, and attach 2 engines, a shield generator and 2 wings. You then can attach 2 weapons to each wing (Giving a total of 4 weapons on your wings). Still need more firepower? Well there is still space left to attach a misslle launcher and a pair of missiles. (It's not how many missiles you can carry at once.) The factor that decides whether you can fit a module to your ship is decided by your skill points, and we have been told there are 9 skills in total. One of them, is flight maneuvers and tactics, so I can only speculate the the others will be something like Cockpit Skill use, Wing Skill use, Engine Skill use, Shield Skill use. That still leaves 4 left, so throw in Weapon Skill use and Launcher Skill use. Maybe we will speculate a bit more in a future article. What's more, it looks like you can build your own capital ships with the module system as well.
