Free Odds on the Pass Line

After the establishment of a point, the craps player has the option to increase his pass line bet and this is done by taking odds. The payment of Free Odds is made based entirely on the True Odds. This means that the bets made will not bear any house advantage. This is the main reason why this type of craps bet is referred to as Free Odds. Free Odds has the sole distinction of being the only bet in a casino where the odds are not against the player.

For this type of craps bet, players would naturally want the highest value in terms of the percentage of the Free Odds for any amount that they intend to place as wager. Thus, it is necessary that you choose the casinos that offer table odds which are 5 times, 10 times or even 100 times the normal odds. This type of craps bet is placed before the Flat bet, which is the original bet, or the pass line bet. The point numbers in a craps game have their respective odds.

The odds for the come bets and for the pass line bets can be made in the same manner, and the only difference is that the odds for the come bets is handed over to the dealer who in turn places the odds on the specific number rolled as well as on top of the pass line bet. Similar to the standard odds bet, this type of craps bet does not also have any house edge.

Don’t Pass Line

The Don’t Pass Line bet is the exact reverse or direct opposite of the pass line bet. This means that if a craps player gets a seven or eleven in the initial dice roll, they lose. The craps player wins with either a two or three and ends with a push, which is also referred to as “Bar,” when they get a twelve. A craps player can also combine a series of one roll bets if they want to get a spike on the risky betting strategies used like the horn bets. Craps players go for pass line bets more often than Don’t Pass Line, and a player who go for the latter is normally perceived by others as an enemy. The house edge of Don’t Pass Line bet is 1.36 percent. Under such scenarios, the house advantage when a craps player “buys” a ten or four is 1.67 percent.
