Introduction

Videos are a recent addition to the wiki, this short article aims to give a short run down on how to use the new video functionality, including changing the file format to an accepted type, uploading to the wiki, and linking within an article, as well as the rules governing the use of video within the wiki. Follow these and your videos will help to make this wiki an amazing Black Prophecy resource.

The effective use of video can turn a mediocre article into an excellent article, making the article content more exciting and easier to follow. Good examples would be showing the use of certain systems within the game, potentially showing footage of the different classes of ships, etc.

Please note all of this section can, and will be revised once more is known about the game

Before you start on your masterpiece video for the wiki, please be sure to read through the following policies governing the use of the video plugin, and acceptable material on the wiki.

Supported file formats

Currently the wiki will only allow the following video and sound formats.

The player does support other video and sound formats. If you need for a format to be enabled, please leave a message on the talk page with your requirements.

Uploading the video

To upload a file, follow these steps:-

  1. Ensure you are logged in.
  2. Click on the "Upload file" link on the left.
  3. Ensure your file is no bigger than 8megs in size, otherwise the server will reject your upload.
  4. The wiki will warn you if the size of the file is bigger than 500k. This is normal, just press "Ignore warning".
  5. Make a note of the uploaded filename so it can be linked.

Linking the video

Just add this tag in the right place on the page with the name of your video.
